Receipt Caker is built to be privacy-friendly. The receipts and documents you create in the generator are rendered entirely in your browser, and their content is never uploaded to, stored on, or transmitted to our servers. This policy explains what limited information we do collect when you use the site, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.

1. Information we collect

We collect as little as possible. Depending on how you use Receipt Caker, this may include:

  • Receipt content — the business names, line items, prices, logos and other details you type into the generator. This data stays in your browser. It is used to render your live preview and export, and it is not sent to us.
  • Account and billing information — if you upgrade to Pro, our third-party payment processor collects the details needed to take payment (such as your email and card information). We receive a confirmation of your subscription status but do not store your full card number.
  • Usage and device data — standard analytics such as pages visited, referring site, browser type and approximate region, used to understand how the site is used and to improve it.
  • Cookies and local storage — small files used to keep the site working, remember your preferences, and measure usage.

2. How we use information

We use the limited data above to operate and secure the site, provide and bill for Pro features, respond to support requests, understand aggregate usage, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your receipt content for advertising.

3. Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies to make the site function and privacy-conscious analytics to measure traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the generator will continue to work, though some preferences may not be remembered between visits.

4. How we share information

We share information only with the service providers that help us run Receipt Caker — for example, our hosting provider, payment processor and analytics provider — and only to the extent they need it to perform their function. We may also disclose information where required by law. We never share the receipt content you create, because we never receive it in the first place.

5. Data retention

Because receipt content lives in your browser, it is retained only for as long as you keep the tab open or until your browser clears it. Account and billing records are kept for as long as your subscription is active and for any period afterwards required for legal, accounting or tax purposes.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete the personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@receiptcaker.com and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the limited data we hold. Keeping receipt content in your browser rather than on our servers is itself a core part of that approach. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's privacy

Receipt Caker is intended for business and general use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International users

Receipt Caker may be operated from, and use service providers located in, countries other than your own. Where information is transferred internationally, we take steps to ensure it continues to be protected in line with this policy and applicable law.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be highlighted on the site. Continued use of Receipt Caker after an update means you accept the revised policy.
