Terms of Service

1. The service

Receipt Caker is an online tool that lets you build customizable receipts and similar documents and export them as image or PDF files. Documents are generated entirely in your browser. The service is a document-generation tool only: it does not process payments on your behalf, send invoices, sync with accounting systems, or verify that any transaction took place.

2. Acceptable use

Receipt Caker generates receipts for design mockups, testing, bookkeeping and record-keeping. Output must not be used to create fraudulent documents or to deceive any third party.

Our templates are deliberately generic. You agree that you will not use the service to:

• imitate a specific company or reproduce a real business's name, logo or trade dress in order to pass a document off as theirs;
• produce fraudulent proof of purchase or forge documents for a refund, reimbursement or claim you are not entitled to;
• misrepresent a transaction that did not occur, or otherwise deceive any third party;
• break any law, or infringe the intellectual-property or other rights of anyone else.

You are solely responsible for the documents you create and how you use them.

3. Accounts and plans

The core generator is free to use and requires no account. Free exports carry a small watermark. An optional paid Pro plan removes the watermark and unlocks additional features such as custom-logo export. If you subscribe to Pro, you are responsible for keeping your account details accurate and for all activity under your account.

4. Billing and refunds

Paid plans are billed through our third-party payment processor at the price shown at checkout. Unless stated otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and you can cancel at any time to stop future charges. Applicable taxes may be added. If you believe you have been billed in error, contact hello@receiptcaker.com.

5. Your content

You keep all rights to the content you enter into the generator. Because that content stays in your browser, we do not claim any licence over it. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any names, logos or other material you include in your documents.

6. Intellectual property

The service itself — including its software, design, templates and branding — is owned by Receipt Caker and protected by intellectual-property laws. You may use it to create documents for your own lawful purposes, but you may not copy, resell or redistribute the service itself without our permission.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose, and we do not provide legal, tax or accounting advice.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Receipt Caker will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss arising out of your use of — or inability to use — the service or the documents you create with it.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Receipt Caker harmless from any claim or demand arising out of your use of the service or your breach of these terms, including any misuse of the documents you generate.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the service at any time if you breach these terms or use the service unlawfully. You may stop using the service at any time.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date above. Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised terms.
