Itemized Receipt
- Definition
- An itemized receipt lists each product or service bought as a separate line, rather than as one lump sum.
Itemized receipts show the description, quantity, and price of every item, followed by the subtotal, tax, and total. They are required for many expense-reimbursement and tax-deduction purposes because they prove exactly what was purchased, not just that a payment was made. A credit-card slip showing only a total is not itemized, which is why finance teams ask for the detailed receipt. Receipt Caker produces fully itemized receipts by default.
