What a moped sales receipt is and why you need one
A moped sales receipt is the written proof that a moped or scooter changed hands from one person to another. When you buy or sell privately there is no dealership paperwork and no till printing a slip, so the two parties create the record themselves. This document — often called a moped bill of sale — names the seller and the buyer, describes the exact machine, states the agreed price, and is signed and dated by both sides. It is the piece of paper the buyer relies on to register the moped in their name and the seller keeps to show they no longer own it.

What to put on a moped bill of sale
A complete moped sales receipt records the full names of the buyer and seller, the make, model and year of the moped, the engine size, the frame or VIN number, the odometer reading, the agreed sale price, the date, and how the buyer paid. Add the odometer reading so both sides agree on the mileage at the moment of sale; the example shows 3,140 miles. Selling a moped 'as-is'
Most private moped and scooter sales are 'as-is', meaning the seller gives no warranty and the buyer accepts the machine in its current condition.
