Rent Receipt Generator
A rent receipt is the proof a landlord gives a tenant that rent for a period has been paid — useful for the tenant's records, for settling security-deposit disputes, and for the landlord's own bookkeeping of rental income. Receipt Caker's free rent receipt generator fills in the tenant, landlord, property, period, and amount, then exports a clean PNG or PDF to sign and hand over.

A rent receipt is the landlord's confirmation that a tenant has paid rent for a given period. It names the tenant and the landlord, gives the property address, states the period covered and the date received, and shows the amount paid and how. Tenants keep them to prove payment, to settle a security-deposit dispute, or simply to keep their records straight.
Receipt Caker fills in these fields and lays the receipt out ready to sign, one per period. Keeping receipts in sequence gives both the tenant and the landlord a clean, matching record of what was paid and when.
When landlords should issue one
Some states and cities require a landlord to provide a written rent receipt on request, and many require one whenever rent is paid in cash, since cash leaves no bank record. A receipt for each period backs up both sides if a payment is ever questioned or a deposit is withheld.
Even where no rule applies, a receipt is worth issuing: it gives the tenant proof of payment and the landlord a clean log of rental income for bookkeeping. Local requirements vary, so check what your state or city asks for. Receipt Caker produces the receipt itself; it does not give legal advice.
Signing and keeping records
A rent receipt is strongest when the landlord or their agent signs it, because the signature confirms the money was received and turns the document into acknowledged proof of payment. For a later security-deposit dispute or any question over whether rent was paid, a signed receipt carries more weight than an unsigned note.
The generator leaves a clear space for the signature so the landlord can complete it before handing it over. Everything is composed in your browser with no account; export a free PNG or a Pro PDF to print or send, and keep a copy of each receipt with your records.
